The Army And Navy Have Conducted The First Joint Test Of Their New Hypersonic Weapon

The U.S. Army and the U.S. Navy, in cooperation with the Missile Defense Agency, have conducted their first joint test launch of a new hypersonic warhead in the Pacific. The two services plan to eventually deploy this common hypersonic boost-glide vehicle on top of land-based and submarine-launched missiles, respectively.

The Navy’s Arleigh Burke Class Destroyers To Be Armed With Hypersonic Weapon Interceptors

The U.S. military is developing an interceptor intended to knock down hypersonic boost-glide vehicles specifically for deployment on U.S. Navy Arleigh Burke class destroyers equipped with the Aegis Ballistic Missile Defense system. Some of these ships are already configured for ballistic missile defense and the Navy expects to forward deploy more of them to Europe soon.

Israel Tests Arrow 3 Interceptor’s Long Range Performance In First-Ever Alaskan Launches

Israel has conducted the first-ever tests of its Arrow 3 ballistic missile defense system outside of the country as part of more than a week of launches in Alaska. In announcing this testing had occurred, Israeli officials have also said that there is foreign interest in potential export sales of the system, which has been in development now for more than a decade.
