B-17 In Horrific Mid-Air Collision At Dallas Airshow (Updated)
Local authorities are responding after the fiery crash in Dallas’ Oak Cliff neighborhood.
A B-17 Flying Fortress and another aircraft have crashed after a mid-air collision during the Wings Over Dallas WWII Airshow at Dallas Executive Airport.
Video shows an unidentified single-engine aircraft approach the B-17 from behind its left wing after a low pass over the airfield. The smaller plane appears to hit the four-engine bomber in the center during a sweeping left turn.
The B-17 appears to mostly break apart and both aircraft hit the ground in a fireball. Debris from the crash reportedly landed on nearby Highway 67 in the Oak Cliff neighborhood. At this time, it is not known how many souls were aboard both aircraft at the time of the crash.

UPDATE:
While not officially confirmed, flight tracking data via our friend Evergreen Intel indicates the two aircraft involved were B-17 'Texas Raiders' (seen in the banner image of this post) and a P-63 Kingcobra.
UPDATE:
The FAA has confirmed The P-63's involvement in the crash. Still no word on fatalities.
